Our Commitment

Mile 12 Warrior LLC is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities throughout the United States. Because this website serves drivers and customers nationwide, we design and maintain it to meet the technical standard used across federal, state, and local U.S. disability-access laws: WCAG 2.1 Level AA (with WCAG 2.2 AA improvements where practical).

Federal Law (United States)

• Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title III (42 U.S.C. § 12181 et seq.) — prohibits discrimination by private businesses that are places of public accommodation. The U.S. Department of Justice has stated that websites and mobile apps used to offer goods and services to the public must be accessible. Private Title III entities do not currently have a separate DOJ web rule with a fixed deadline, but courts and settlements routinely treat inaccessible commercial websites as ADA violations.
• ADA Title II — applies to state and local government websites (not this private business). The DOJ’s 2024 Title II web rule adopts WCAG 2.1 Level AA for government entities; we still use that same technical bar as our private-sector target.
• Rehabilitation Act § 504 / § 508 — § 504 covers recipients of federal financial assistance; § 508 covers federal agencies’ electronic content. Mile 12 Warrior is a private business and is not a federal agency; we follow Section 508 / WCAG guidance as best practice when it strengthens accessibility.
• Communications Act / CVAA — advanced communications and video accessibility rules apply mainly to certain communications and video providers; we note them for completeness where third-party media is used.

State Law

State civil-rights and disability laws often add damages or broader coverage on top of the ADA. Because we serve customers in all 50 states, we treat equal digital access as a nationwide obligation. Laws that most often appear in website accessibility claims include:

• California — Unruh Civil Rights Act (Cal. Civ. Code § 51) — full and equal accommodations in business establishments; an ADA violation is also an Unruh violation (§ 51(f)). Statutory damages can be at least $4,000 per violation plus attorney fees.
• California — Disabled Persons Act (Cal. Civ. Code §§ 54–55.2) — overlapping state disability access protections (often pleaded with Unruh).
• New York — Human Rights Law (N.Y. Exec. Law § 296) — disability discrimination in public accommodations; allows compensatory (and in some cases punitive) damages beyond typical federal ADA private remedies.
• Other states — many states have human-rights, public-accommodation, or consumer-protection statutes that plaintiffs may plead alongside the ADA (for example, Massachusetts, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Florida, and others). Requirements and remedies vary by state. Meeting WCAG 2.1 AA is the practical way to address this multi-state exposure.

Mile 12 Warrior LLC is headquartered in California; California Unruh / Disabled Persons Act exposure is therefore primary for our home jurisdiction, while federal ADA and other state laws may apply wherever we offer goods or services online.

Local / Municipal Law

• New York City Human Rights Law (NYCHRL) (N.Y.C. Admin. Code § 8-107) — among the broadest local civil-rights laws in the U.S.; construed liberally and often applied to businesses that serve NYC customers online. Compensatory and punitive damages may be available without the same caps as federal ADA private suits.
• Other cities and counties — some localities have human-rights commissions, disability ordinances, or procurement rules that reference WCAG or ADA standards. Sacramento and other California cities generally enforce disability access through state law (Unruh / Disabled Persons Act) and the ADA rather than a separate private-website ordinance; we still maintain WCAG 2.1 AA as the site-wide standard.
• Building / physical access codes (ADA Standards, California Building Code, local building codes) govern physical facilities. This statement addresses digital accessibility of mile12warrior.com; physical premises, if any, remain subject to applicable building and access codes separately.

Technical Standard We Follow

Across federal, state, and local frameworks, U.S. courts, DOJ guidance, and settlement agreements consistently use:

• WCAG 2.1 Level AA — primary conformance target for this website
• WCAG 2.2 Level AA — adopted where practical as a forward-compatible improvement (includes all 2.1 AA criteria plus additional success criteria)

WCAG is published by the W3C; it is not itself a statute, but it is the measuring stick used to evaluate whether digital barriers violate the ADA and parallel state/local laws.

Conformance Goal

We strive for WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance across public pages so one technical standard satisfies the practical expectations of federal ADA Title III and the major state and local regimes that reference or incorporate ADA-level access. Conformance is an ongoing process — not a one-time certification — and we remediate barriers as we find them.

Accessibility Features

• Skip link to main content on every page
• Semantic HTML landmarks (nav, main, footer) and meaningful headings
• Keyboard navigation, including Escape to close the mobile menu and arrow-key support for roadmap tabs
• Visible focus indicators on interactive controls
• ARIA labels, live regions, and dialog roles where needed
• Text and UI contrast tuned for WCAG AA on our dark theme
• Resizable text without loss of essential content
• Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images; decorative images marked appropriately
• Respect for prefers-reduced-motion (and optional .reduce-motion)
• Content remains readable if JavaScript is disabled for core page structure

Known Limitations

• User-generated content (forum posts, community recipes, comments) may not meet all WCAG criteria because authors control formatting and media.
• Third-party embeds (payment processors, maps, social widgets, authenticator QR flows) may not fully conform; we choose vendors with accessibility support where possible.
• Some older PDF or printable packet exports may need additional remediation; request an accessible format using the contacts below.

We continuously identify and resolve barriers. Reporting an issue helps us prioritize fixes.

Compatible Assistive Technologies

Pages are designed to work with current major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and common assistive technologies such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack. If you use a specific combination that fails, tell us so we can reproduce and fix it.
